November 13 – World Kindness Day

To celebrate World Kindness Day, the University of Pécs Library and Knowledge Centre has prepared a special showcase exhibition that highlights thoughtfulness, empathy, and the power of human connections.

World Kindness Day has been celebrated since 1998. Originally launched as an initiative from Japan, it is now recognized worldwide as a day dedicated to fostering positive human relationships, promoting tolerance, and cultivating compassion. Founded by the World Kindness Movement, the aim of the celebration is to remind us that kindness is not only a small gesture but a way of life—a conscious choice that can make our everyday lives more beautiful.

The exhibition aims to highlight the importance of paying attention to one another, showing empathy, and practicing selflessness, just as much as the development of science and technology.

The books and quotations displayed in the showcases explore the psychology, social significance, and artistic representation of kindness. Visitors can immerse themselves in works that emphasize the importance of positive human relationships, compassion, and mental well-being.

The exhibition encourages us to make time for acts of kindness, even in a fast-paced and stressful world—whether it is a supportive message, a shared laugh, or a small, thoughtful gesture in everyday life.
